If the wound formed in any region is evaluated for the presence of infection, wound culture is performed. The bacteria grown in the wound is usually Escherichia Coli. More rarely, Staphylococcus Aureus and Pseudomonas spp. Infection can be seen.
Interpretation:In all culture procedures, the sample placed on appropriate media is kept under 37 degrees until growth is observed. If there is growth, it is reported and antibiogram is performed to report the sensitive antibiotic for treatment. The results are reported as resistant or sensitive in order to report the antibiotic for correct treatment.
Sample: Swab from the site of the wound
Working day: Every day
Result Time: 2 days after at 6 PM
