Vit B5 is an important component of carbohydrate, protein and fatty acid metabolisms. It is also involved in cholesterol, lipid,steroid hormone and hemoglobin synthesis and Coenzyme A synthesis which takes part a central role in all pathways. Therefore, it is essential for growth and normal maintenance of skin and hair.
Interpretation: Vit B5 deficiency may affect cardiovascular, nervous and immune systems, including confusion, seizures, shortness of breath, brain diseases, impaired flow of electrolytes in and out of the muscle and nerve cells.
