Thyroid releases hormones to regulate our metabolism. These are, body temperature, muscle strength, and many related functions. Thyroglobulin is a protein found in thyroid cells. The thyroid uses thyroglobulin to make active thyroid hormones.If the patient has an autoimmune condution against thyroglobulin making healthy cells, he has impaired thyroid functions like lightheadness and fatique,hematomas,suscebtibility to skin infections and inflamation.
Interpretation: If the patient has high levels of Anti Tg, this may be a sign of a series of autoimmune disorders such as Grave’s disease or Hashimoto thyroiditis. In this case, some series of related tests may be done for the underlying problems.Low levels are not significant.
