Stuart Factor

Factor X, also known as Stuart –Prower Factor is an enzyme of the coagulation cascade. It is synthesized in the liver and requires Vitamin K for its synthesis. It helps in clotting process.
Interpretation:If there is an unexplained bleeding, this test shows whether the cascade is impaired by Factor X. In rare cases, the deficiency is inherited from the parents. The other acquired cause may be liver diseases, Vitamin K deficiency or anticoaglant treatments.
