Hemoglobin A2 (HBA2)

It is a normal variant of hemoglobin A that consists of two alpha and two delta chains and is found in low levels in normal human blood.
Interpretation: Increased HbA2 may be seen in beta thalassemia or in people who are heterozygote for the beta thalassemia gene.
Sample: Arm vein plasma (EDTA). Nonfasting
