Gonorrhaea culture is indicated in the diagnosis of Neisseria Gonorrhoeae infection. It causes sexually transmitted disease gonorrhoeae. It is a gram negative bacteria causing infection of genitals,throat and eyes both in males and females.
Interpretation: Untreated infection may spread throughout the rest of the body (disseminated gonorrhoeae infection),especially the joınts(septic arthritis). In women, it causes possible infertility and pelvic inflammation.
Sample: Cervical swab,urethral swab or urine.
