Cryoglobulins are abnormal blood proteins that precipitate (noticeably thicken when the blood sample is cooled) when exposed to cold (below 37 degrees Celsius) and cause inflammation and damage to organs. If the levels are low, there may not be any problems.
Interpretation:If cryoglobulins are markedly high in the blood, they can damage the skin, joints, nerves, and certain organs such as the kidney and liver. Low values may not cause any symptoms.
Sample: Venous blood from arm. It does not require hunger.
