CCK (Pancreozymin), is a hormone functioning in improving digestion. This hormone is produced in the I-Cells that lines he duodenum. It is also secreted by certain neurons in the brain. It controls the apetite, reduces the rate at which food empties from the stomach and also stimulates the bile production, in the liver to digest fats. It also stimulates pancreas to release enzymes to aid in digestion process.
Interpretation:High CCK levels have no evidence in any pathologycal situation yet. People with low levels of CCK are reported to suffer from obesity probably due to increased apetite but this is yet to be studied.
