They are gram-negative bacteria that are transmitted through contaminated foodstuffs (especially chicken and other types of poultry meat, unpasteurized milk, fruits and vegetables). The incubation period is 24 to 72 hours, after which diarrhea, cramps, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and fever occur.
Interpretation:Campylobacter is an infection that should be negative. After diagnosis, antibiotics are used for treatment.
