The bleeding or clotting time (PT) is based on the principle of observing the time elapsed for the formation time of fibrin to stop bleeding. This is a method when there were not any laboratory tests yet designed for automated analysis for prothrombin time and activated prothrombin time tests.
Interpretation:This test still may be done if there is no automated instruments or kits available for any reason (war, medical impossibilities etc)
Sample: Arm venous blood. Nonfasting
Working day: Every day. The patient must be in the laboratory for this procedure
Result Time: 15 minutes
