Insulin autoantibodies are proteins the body produces against its own insulin. These antibodies may be Islet Cell Cytoplasmic Autoantibodies (ICA), Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase Antibodies (GADA), Insulinoma Associated 2 Autoantibodies (IA-2A).
Interpretation:The detection of insulin antibodies is an indicative of Type 1 Diabetes. In patients with hypoglycemia with the presence of insulin antibodies, the blood glucose is severely affected.
