Trichomonas Vaginalis is an infection that can occur in both men and women, causing vaginitis in women and prostate or urethra infections in men. It is a parasite and sometimes disappears easily by the body’s I,mmune power without any clinical treatment.
Interpretation:The infection is detected by yellow-green foamy discharge with an odour. In women it is accompanied by itching. In men, it is felt as pain during urination, frequent urination. Sometimes when symptoms are not seen, the infection remains unnoticed and transmission from person to person becomes very easy. It is commonly transmitted sexually. It can also be transmitted from toilets and clothes. Diagnosis by culture and direct microscopy is performed by using the sample obtained from the discharge.
Sample: Vaginal or urethral, seminal discharge sample or smear.
