Throat culture

It is the method used to determine bacteria that cause infection in the throat. The most important is the bacteria called “Beta Hemolytic Streptococcus.” The sample obtained by a swab from the throat is placed in an appropriate medium and grown under in vitro condutions to be identified.
Interpretation:As the bacteria is identified by culture the appropriate antibiotic which the bacreia in the medium is sensitive to will be investigated and reported to the clinician to help him use this information for accurate treatment.

Working day: Everyday
Result Time: Two days later (If antibiogram procedure is performed, the result of the whole test will be reported in 3 or 4 days at 6 PM (depends on growth rate of bacterium)
