IgG Index

IgG index is the calculation including the CSF IgG and CSF albumin and IgG Blood and blood albumin in a single equation, in order to help in diagnosis and monitoring a Multiple Myeloma (demyelinisation in brain and cerebrospinal fluid) patient.
Interpretation: If IgG index is high in CSF, it gives the information of the IgG production in the central nervous system. Other than Multiple Myeloma, it is also used in the inspection of aseptic menengitis, lymphoma, acute inflamatory polyradiculoneuropathy, sarcoidosis, neurosphylis, Guillian Barre Syndrome and cerebral lupus erythromatosis where Ig G Index may also rise.
