Homa Insulin (Insulin Resistance)

Insulin Resistance(IR) is a pathological condution in which the cells fail to respond normally to insülin(Type II Diabetes). In this condution, although insulin is produced in a normal manner, it is not effective in transporting glucose into the cells and unable to fulfill its functions. If this resistence is not overcome, then Type 2 Diabetes is diagnosed.
Interpretation:Insulin resistence is diagnosed according to the endocrinologist’s test protocol depending on the patient’s clinical situation. However, Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) together with insulin results might be of diagnostic value. For the early stage of of type 2 Diabetes, Homa insulin test is the fasting insulin result calculated with fasting plasma insulin and fasting plasma glucose by using a formula (approved by National Center for Biotechnology Information)
Sample: Arm vein blood.. Fasting
Working day: Everyday
Result Time: Each sample 2 hours.
