Hepatitis E (HEV) IgG

Known as the travel sickness, it is an inflammation of the liver caused by oral or fecal transmission of the hepatitis-E virus. It can be transmitted through cooked animal meat, contaminated water, shellfish products. There is no risk of developing into a chronic infection like other types of hepatitis.
Interpretation:The disease is characterized by fever, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, jaundice of the eyes, skin, and joint pain. The incubation period is 40 days. It may be risky in pregnancy.
