Factor XI

Factor XI, is a member of the coagulation cascade. It is synthesized in the liver and requires Vitamin K for its synthesis. It helps in clotting.
Interpretation: Factor XI deficiency is also called Hemophilia C, plasma thromboplastin antecedent deficiency and Rosenthal’s syndrome. It is characterized by severe bleeding and its rare whose incidence is estimeted at 1:100000. Based on the degree of the deficiency, clinical condution may be classified as severe or moderate.
