Chlamydia PCR

Chlamydia is an infection caused by the Chlamydia Trachomatis bacteria. It is usually spread through vaginal, anal or oral sex. Untreated chlamydia infection may lead to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and infertility. PCR test detects the genetic material (DNA, RNA) of Chlamydia Trachomatis.
Interpretation: It is a detection test whether the infection is caused by Chlamydia Trachomatis.
Sample: Urine, swab fluid from vagina, cervix, throat, eyes or rectum depending on the site of potential infection
Working day: Thursday
Result Time: 2 weeks (consult the laboratory)
