Antibiogram

Antibiogram is a process that involves identifying the drugs that are most, least, or not effective at killing microorganisms produced by culture, and reporting these findings as susceptibility or resistance criteria.
Interpretation:Various Antibiotic discs are placed to the culture media where the bacteria has grown. After a certain period, the grown bacteria start to dissapear with certain antibiotics to which the bacteria is susceptible. Those antibiotics are reported in order to faciliate the doctor’s treatment with the target antibiotic to which the bacteria is susceptible..
Sample: The swab sample taken from a wound or its vicinity.
Working day: Everyday
Result Time: 1 or 2 days following growth in culture (which can be tracked by the laboratory).
