Worldwide education specialists point out the close relationship between health (physical and psychological) and education. Healthy students also tend to have higher attendance records than students who don’t receive proper nutrition.
How do we define a healthy student?
A good and balanced nutrition brings physical health to a child. When poor social and economical status of the family is concerned, this might be considered impossible but if some basic nutrition facts are fulfilled, there would be no need for a high family income to compensate with the health nutrition needs of a child. Moreover, imbalanced nutrition is mostly seen in families with high financial incomes. The child who receives imbalanced diet looses his health and this will affect his physical amd mental status.
Another aspect of a healthy child is regular physical activity. The child should not only live in the digital world. There should be physical activity at least once a day either with the family or friends. These activities may include playing with friends, sharing the daily family activities like shopping, cooking, cleaning, walking depending on the daily social life. This also includes the stable and positive relationships between theparents and other members of the family.
A child with a good mental health, primarily receives this support from the family. A good social education which parents should give to their child, includes love, understanding, tolerance and stable relationships. This prepares the child to a good and balanced social life.
What are the 10 basic facts of daily nutriton?
A balanced nutrition includes a fruit, a vegetable, any cereal, legumes, protein and minerals at least one time of each everyday. This will support brain development and ability to learn and understand. The cheapest and easiest sources are:
- Yogurt
- Beans
- Eggs
- Potatoes
- Milk
- Multigrain bread
- Green leafs
- Fruits
- Any kind of vegetables
- Any kind of nuts
If any of these nutrients are consumed at least once a day, this will be adequate to maintain a balanced diet. As examples for a basic diet, these may be replaced or supported with meat and various kinds of fruits and vegetables.
What is the contribution that a healthy child gives to the family and education?
Children who are in physical and psyhcological health, both prepare themselves for a better future and faciliate theit parents’ living by minimizing their concerns about their children’s educational and social lives giving them more space to solve the problems in their efforts to standardize the condutions which are best for the family.
Along with the education of the family, healthy living and nutrition lessons should be in the education curriculum of the schools. Self confident, healthy, tolerant and educationally aware children will bring out better social lives in future.
